Abstract:The ADP National Employment report revealed 33,000 job losses across the private sector in the US during June 2025. Check out the job losses based on different sectors, regions and establishment type.

Ahead of the US Jobs data release scheduled on July 3, 2025, the ADP National Employment report prepared by ADP Research in partnership with the Standard Digital Economy Lab revealed 33,000 job losses across the private sector in the US. Chief Economist at ADP, Dr. Nela Richarson, although layoff continued to remain rare, the reluctance to hire and replace departing workers contributed to job losses in June 2025. The slowdown in hiring, however, has not disrupted pay growth, Nela added.
Job losses were experienced across professional and business services, along with health and education services. Meanwhile, jobs grew in manufacturing, hospitality and leisure sectors. Take a look at the job scenario that prevailed across different sectors across the US in June 2025.
The goods-producing industry saw 32,000 jobs in June 2025. The manufacturing sector led the employment chart by creating 15,000 jobs, followed by construction and natural resources/mining with 9,000 and 8,000, respectively.
Service sectors contributed massively to the overall job loss data in June 2025. As many as 66,000 jobs were lost during the month. Professional/business services were hit the hardest with 56,000 job losses. Education/health services came second with 52,000 job losses. Financial services came afterward with 14,000 job losses.
However, other service sectors saw job additions during the month. Leisure/hospitality led with 32,000 jobs, followed by trade/transportation/utilities with 14,000. Information and other services recorded jobs of 5,000 each.
Job losses were the steepest in small establishments during June 2025. These establishments saw 47,000 job cuts during the period, out of which organizations with 1-19 employees saw 29,000 job losses. The remaining 18,000 job losses happened in organizations with 20-49 employees. Medium establishments saw 15,000 job cuts, including 27,000 from organizations with 250-499 employees. Meanwhile, organizations with 50-249 employees saw 12,000 job additions.
The Northeast region accounted for 3,000 job losses, with New England contributing 10,000 to the total. However, 7,000 job additions in the Middle Atlantic restore confidence among employees in the region.
The Midwest region saw 24,000 job losses out of which the West North Central contributed 28,000. East North Central saw 4,000 job additions.
Around 13,000 jobs were added in the southern region of the US during June 2025. East South Central and West South Central saw 20,000 and 14,000 job additions, respectively. The South Atlantic region witnessed 21,000 job losses. The West regions job losses, on the other hand, were 20,000.
Conclusion
The US jobs data for June 2025 presented through the ADP National Employment report may differ from the official release a day later. However, the data will likely draw parallels with the officially released statistics.
